Bill Kracht

CEO:

As Chief Executive Officer of the Players Club Cardroom, Bill enjoys running the club. When he came to Ventura, he fell in love with the town and when he started working at the Players Club he found his life's calling, making the Players Club more of the environment that he's enjoyed so much.

Having been born into an Air Force Colonel's household in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he got to experience 14 different homes in his first 14 years of life, finally getting to stay a whole 4 years in one place in North Carolina for his high school years.

From there he worked in retail management and part-time in the gaming industry as a dealer and floorman.

Once he found Ventura and a job at the Players Club, he found what he really enjoyed and now had an official home, so when the lure of the larger casinos offered him a chance at management, he had to pass and took on the challenge of making the Players Club not become what he saw in those larger impersonal cardrooms.

That's why you can very often see him on the floors and even sitting at the tables of the "biggest little cardroom in California".

He's also very active in giving back to the community that is his home.  He's a board member of the Boys' Club of Ventura and on the board of the Westside Community Council that develops college scholarships for local Avenue students, a Chamber of Commerce member, a staunch supporter of Rev. McCurtis' Life Center's Homeless Job Placement Center, supports the Police Activities League.

He's also a board member on the California Gaming Commision and is on the Regulations Committee for the Commission of Gambling Control.

He's also gotten his club patrons to help with Crime Stoppers and Canned Food Drives in the local community.

Patty Abelt

Assistant General Manager:

Patty has worked for the club almost 30 years starting as a chip runner and waitress.  She absolutely loved the job and the people and found the club to be a place she felt was home to her.  It wasn't until Bill insisted that he needed her love and care for the people and the needs of the club to be put to better use in the office that she "graduated" to this position.
